ABCD: Anybody Can Dance promises a lot of masti with those essential doses of drama, making it a film for the Youth and it is in 3D, which will make the experience even more upfront.
Sachin-Jigar have delivered a multi-genre winning album. Despite having a couple of situational tracks, the album gets a thumbs up from me because of its uniqueness. With these songs, Any Body Can Dance!
Yes, it is another stolen idea, the first of its kind in India but should we be bothered; after all, the music is very much Indian and the dancers are the best that we’ve got. The star cast is the highlight; if you have missed the screen presence of “The Indian Michael Jackson” Prabhu Deva and if you’ve wondered how Ganesh Acharya manages to shake a leg, you might just want to go for this one. Nonetheless, there are many more alluring aspects to the film.
As for Remo D’ Souza, it is a dream come true; with the 8th of February being finalized as the date of release, the choreographer turned director has finally been able to bring forth his passion to the audience. The film will also feature the winners of Dance India Dance, a show judged by Remo. Another popular face that you may recall is of, the global winner, Lauren Gottlieb of the popular television show called “So You Think You Can Dance”.
The trailer released a month ago gives us a little sneak-peek into the plot. Presumably, Prabhu Deva starts a dance academy with partner, played by Kay Kay Menon. However, his partner is a manipulative businessman who ends up sacking Prabhu Deva aka Sarvesh Kalangutkar. On the verge of giving up hope completely, Sarvesh sees a dance troupe practicing; every single dancer in the troupe is talented, but they aren’t prepared yet for the Ganpati Dance Battle. Not letting go of the opportunity, Sarvesh decides to train them to become the best dancers of India. Now, decide whether that’s something already heard of or fresh for the screen.
On the 7th of January, T-Series released the first song from the album on YouTube called Bezubaan that has been viewed immensely, with the likes remaining way higher than the dislikes. Really, it is a matter of subjectivity; while I wasn’t tempted to click on the thumbs up icon, the music directed by the composer-duo Sachin-Jigar was well appreciated by the critics. Score Magazine critic said, “Sachin-Jigar have delivered a multi-genre winning album. Despite having a couple of situational tracks, the album gets a thumbs up from me because of its uniqueness. With these songs, Any Body Can Dance!”. He gave the album a four on five.
